AI Features in Apple Products might not always be Free

During its recent WWDC 2024 event, Apple unveiled Apple Intelligence, a set of AI technologies for Apple products. It is reportedly free to download for iOS18, iPadOS18, and macOS Sequoia for the time being. But according to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the usage of it won't be free indefinitely. He claims that Apple would eventually divide Apple Intelligence into two levels. The commercial edition will have access to the entire range of AI functions for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, while the free version will only have a restricted set of features.

According to Gurman, Apple Intelligence+ will be the name of the premium edition. He also discloses the possibility that Apple may profit more from these subscription services than from the sale of hardware. As a result, the tech giant will place a high priority on Apple Intelligence. He said that any AI partner that Apple puts into its products will no longer get a membership fee.

Apple Intelligence will be accessible on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, in terms of smartphones. Apple's AI is also anticipated for the forthcoming iPhone 16 series, Mac, and iPad with M-series chips.

Gurman said in a different source that Apple intends to integrate AI into its Vision Pro mixed reality headset. It is not anticipated to launch anytime soon, though. Rethinking how the functions will appear in mixed reality as opposed to on a MacBook or iPhone screen is the primary difficulty here.

Your iPhones may prioritize alerts with Apple Intelligence. Writing tools provide the ability to summarize, edit, and make recommendations. Similar to Meta AI, the "Image Playground" tool will likewise let you create photos for free by providing prompts.

You will be able to delegate "action" to Apple Intelligence. In addition to opening particular files, you may ask it to play audio podcasts that a contact has provided you. It will have the ability to assess the situation and adjust its response.
